One of your better shots this one, Judit.
I like how the door, the doorframe and the stripes on the wall obn the right create a certain contnuity in the shot. The anti-Bush poster is also added bonus, helps break up the pic. Good crop as well!
But is it slightly out of focus, or did the fuzziness occur when you changed the size to fit the specs here? It has happened to me.
Anyway, nice work!

In a way, the poster who is the main thing in lots of ways here, also gets in the way for a nice shot of a shop. I really like the architechture here. The three shapes under the window and the nine stripes to the right. And the black and white picture have a wonderful tone (can I say that i english?). So the poster takes away the focus for me here, but I can see why you wanted to do this picture. In many ways, it is good documentary.

This photo has double meaning minimum. The first one is unambiguous. The door of the pub (McGarrigles) is open inviting the people to go in. I did it. It is very beautiful inside (both the architecture and the decoration); the owners and the prices as well are very friendly. Neither the second one is difficult what shows the antipathy to Bush in whole around Ireland at that time. The third one speaks about the owners' feeling in the same cause ... and so on ...

The original main colour of the portal of this pub is olive-green. What else than green would it be?

O: You are right as always ;) The poster wasn't in the focus; a bit right and a bit below, but only a few μms (micrometers) :) The poster is behind the glass and the reflections (again) destroy the crystal clear view. But still, may I hope that this picture is a bit better ''cup of tea'' for you? ;)

Pål: You can say in English – anything you like :)

In addition, it was very interesting to face the Clinton's popularity some weeks later (on 26th of August). Hundreds if not thousands of people were standing in the queue at Eason Bookstore (the best and biggest in Dublin) during hours waiting for Clinton's dedication in his book ''My life''.

Thank you for your nice comments! :)

Hei Judit!

I do so absolutely agree with the message of the poster, so i like the photo! ;o)
I like the lines, the vertical ones on the right, picked up again in the door. The ''boxes'' below, repeated in the door inside. I do feel that the left side is a bit dark, and would have loved to see somthing of the interior. Also you've decidet to keep the sign in the top right corner. But what does it say? It does add to the compsition, but is that the only mission? I think the whole photo could be sharpened a bit.
But the message (and the Guinnes) is a winner!!!

Thank you, Jóhann, for your comment. You are absolutely right in many respects; the message, the sharpness and GUINNESS! The small table on the right above is a licence with some numbers and words + 2 glasses of GUINNESS. All pubs need to have this kind of licences.

I have to look after the interior among my photos. If I find something good I will post it here :)

Judith,

A nice picture indeed.

I like its dark tones, the open door, the anti-Bush poster and the small mirror beneath it. The Guiness sign at the upper right, with the vertical lines below, looks almost like an abstracted spider.

All in all, a nice and interesting picture.

Thank you, Kristoffer, for the nice comment! I like your phrase - the ''abstracted spider''. It has only six legs but three more extras beside it ;)
